Assistant to Edward Sandeman, Water Engineer, Plymouth, 1891-9; Assistant to late James Mansergh, r F.R.S., 1899-1900; Engineer to Jersey New Water Works Co., Ltd., St. Helier's, Jersey, 1900-3; Engineer to Torquay Corporation Water Works, 1903 to date.

1950 Died. 'Mr. Samuel C. Chapman, for many years Torquay's water engineer, died at his home, Crofton, Bronshill-road, Torquay, yesterday. He served his articles under the late Mr. G. D. Bellamy in Plymouth and in 1891 became assistant to Mr E. Sandeman, the water engineer. In Plymouth he prepared plans for the Burrator reservoir until the beginning of 1896. when he went there as resident engineer. He was succeeded as water engineer at Torquay by Mr. N. G. Elliot, now in a similar post in Plymouth.'[1]
