1902 Messrs. Saunders and Biss, horticultural builders and heating engineers, exhibited examples their well-known zinc bar dry glazing without putty, which has become popular with nurserymen and those having the care glass houses throughout the country.[1]

1915 Saunders and Biss, 172, Sidwell-street, Exeter.[4]

1917 'An old bell, reputed to date back well over century, has been presented to the St. Nicholas Priory by Messrs. Saunders and Biss, Exeter. It was for many years in the yard of their premises at 68-72, Howell Road and was used as a "call" tor the employees. When the firm moved to 172, it was taken there and again used for the same purpose'[5]
