1932 Showerings was incorporated as a private company, making beer and cider.
1947 Francis Showering had developed a filtration process that extended the shelf life of bottled perry.
1950 Babycham trademark registered
1952 Ended production of beer
1953 Ended production of apple cider. Babycham was launched nationwide.
Early 1950s: the Babycham Pony advertised Showerings very popular fizzy drink.
But the company could not keep up with demand so rationing was introduced.
1956 Acquired R. N. Coate and Co, makers of cider
1959 Incorporated as a public company.
1961 Took over William Gaymer and Son, makers of cider, to reduce dependence of the business on Babycham.
1961 Merger of Showerings, Vine Products and Whiteway's[1] to form Showerings, Vine Products and Whiteways.
1968 Acquired by Allied Breweries
