1898 S. W. Silver and Co. and Benjamin Edgington Ltd was formed to amalgamate the S. W. Silver and Co merchants and manufacturers of camping equipment, firearms, leather goods, etc and Benjamin Edgington, government contractors, manufacturers of tents, camping equipment, etc.[1]

Presumably at some point the name was shortened

1937 Reported financial results as Silver and Edgington[3]

1966-67 Thomas Black and Sons (Greenock) made a reverse take-over of Silver and Edgington, although in the Blacks’ 1968 catalogue, it states that it was a merger between the two companies. The new group was called Black and Edgington.
