Siston Hill Farm

From Graces Guide

of Siston Common, South Gloucestershire

Small colliery established c. 1799 by William Boult, Solomon Leonard (d. 1827) and Thomas Waters (1737-1803) and abandoned by the early 19th century. By 1830, William Boult's son, also named William, had formed a partnership with Robert Leonard (probably a relation of his father’s partner Solomon) and a former Jamaican plantation owner named William Betts (1770-1847) to form Leonard, Betts and Boult to run Easton Colliery.
