With his wife Harriet Mirls (age 33 born Liverpool) and their six children; Aaron Mirls (age 12 born Manchester); Rosina Mirls (age 9 born Manchester); Solomon Mirls (age 7 born Manchester); Victoria Mirls (age 5 born Manchester); Frederick Mirls (age 2 born Manchester); and Evelyn Mirls (age 2 months born Manchester). 1878-89 CME of the Victorian Railways
1889 December 28th. Died. 'Mr. Solomon Mirls, locomotive superintendent of the Victorian Railway department. He was Manchester man, and served his apprenticeship as engineer in the firm of Sharp, Stewart, and Co. emigrated 1861, and recently made a trip round the world for the benefit of his health. He leaves a widow and five children.'[3]
