From Graces Guide

In Tamworth, NSW

Museum housed in the 1907 Power Station/Municipal Electric Showroom building.

Museum website

The original power station had two undertype compound engines (John Fowler and Co Nos. 5718/9) driving Crompton dynamos, supplied in 1888. The original equipment was disposed of long ago, but the equipment has been replicated as far as possible, with replacement Fowler engines and a 1907 Belliss and Morcom engine. The Fowler engines were found during an extensive search by Ron Greer. One (Serial No. 7846) came from a farm near Warrnambool, and the other (7586) from the banks of the River Murray at Megan, NSW[1]
