THOMAS BRIGHT WILSON, born in Manchester on the 24th July, 1843, died at Ilkley, Yorkshire, on the 28th November, 1915.
After gaining experience on the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, and as Assistant Manager at Messrs. Cammell’s works at Sheffield, he entered the service of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company in 1876.
After serving as Resident Engineer on various works, he acted as Assistant Superintendent of Permanent Way until 1886, and was subsequently employed for several years on widening and other works.
He left the Company’s service in 1898, and afterwards engaged in private practice and as an assistant to Sir J. T. Firbank, contractor.
Mr. Wilson was elected an Associate Member on the 7th December, 1886.
