1887 Died. 'We regret to record the death of Mr. Thomas Evans, F.G.S., Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Mines for the Midland district, which occurred at his residence, Derby, on Friday. The deceased gentleman, who at his demise was 58 years of age had been in failing health for some time. His death will be deeply regretted throughout Derbyshire which had been the principal scene of his labours, and where by his courteousness and geniality he had gained wide circle of friends. THE FUNERAL. The funeral of the late Mr. Thomas Evan?, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Mines for the Counties of Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, and Warwick, took place on Tuesday, in Belper Cemetery.
