1872 Married at Birch in Rusholme to Mary Jane Heald and had seven daughters and three sons
1898 Thomas Guest, of Manchester, President of the Confectioners' Association.[1]

- 1916 'MAJOR T. H. GUEST, York and Lancaster Regiment, is officially reported killed. He was the son of Mr. Thomas Guest, manufacturing confectioner, Manchester, and nephew of the late Mr. George Guest, grocer, Barnsley. He served as trooper in the South African War, joined the York and Lancaster Regiment on the outbreak of war with the rank of second-lieutenant, being promoted major some time before his battalion left England. He married Miss Mabel Fountain, of Birthwaite Hall, near Barnsley, and resided Gorse Crag. Port Erin. Isle of Man. Major Guest, who was 41 years of age, was very popular with his men. He led his company in the offensive, and though wounded early, he struggled along, and reached the German trenches only be shot down.'[2]
