THOMAS WILLIAM FLETCHER was born at Warrington on 15th March 1877.
He was educated at the Grammar School in that town and at the University College of Wales.
In 1894 he began an apprenticeship of seven years with Messrs. Fletcher, Russell and Co., subsequently becoming head of the machine drawing department and a director.
In 1908 he was appointed managing director, and later Chairman and technical adviser to the firm.
He retired from business at the end of the War owing to ill-health, and his death took place at Taormina, Sicily, on 1st March 1923, in his forty-sixth year.
He became a Member of this Institution in 1918.
