1936 Renamed Price's (Bromborough) Ltd
1937 Unilever, through its UK operation Lever Brothers, sold out of Candles Ltd, taking the Bromborough works and all the soap manufacturing rights with it. The company continued to develop the Bromborough facility for its specialist fatty acid production (later operating as Unichema Ltd), producing a complex and sophisticated range of specialist fats and glycerides for the manufacture of cosmetics, polishes, ice cream, confectionery, soaps and detergents, printing inks, plastics and pharmaceuticals.
1959 Price's (Bromborough) Ltd supplied stearines in flake, powder, bead and block form; oleines; textile oils; 12-hydroxy stearic acid; split and distilled fatty acids ex crude and acid oils; fatty alcohol (cetyl, stearyl and oleyl); cyclopentanone.
1968 Price's (Bromborough) Ltd was renamed Price's Chemicals Ltd
1977 Price's Chemicals Ltd was renamed Unichema Ltd
1997 ICI made its biggest acquisition to date with the purchase of four speciality chemicals businesses from Unilever including Unichema
2002 Business sold to a fellow subsidiary of ICI, Unichema Chemie B.V.; Unichema Chemicals Ltd entered into a manufacturing agreement to supply Unichema Chemie B.V.
2003 ICI's Performance Specialities division included the business Unichema Chemicals focused on skin care products, based in the Netherlands.[1]
