c.1935 Captain Vivian Loyd left Vickers Armstrongs and set up his own company Vivian Loyd which produced the Loyd carrier which saw extensive service in WWII.

1950 Loyd retired as managing director but continued as director and technical adviser to the company[1]

1954 Standard Insulator Co of Camberley made the Standard Loyd auto rotary sickle[2].
