Vivian Graham Loyd (1894-1972) of Vivian Loyd and Co
1894 May 13th. Born the son of William Graham Loyd, a Banker, and his wife Emily Diana Maria Beaumont

WWI served in Mesopotamia, rising to the rank of captain
1924 Married (1)
c.1924 He began developing tracked vehicles with John V. Carden
1924-8 Their joint company, Carden-Loyd Tractors, set up in Chertsey, developed a number of light tracked carriers for the Army. Loyd was described as an "extrovert engineer-salesman".
1928 The company was taken over by Vickers-Armstrongs
c.1935 Soon after the death of Carden, Loyd left Vickers-Armstrongs and set up his own company Vivian Loyd which produced the Loyd carrier which saw extensive service in WWII.
1937 Married (2) in Surrey to Phyllis Mary Tringham
Seriously ill in his later years
1972 March 19th. Died.
