William Eric Hands (1895- )
Born March 14, 1895, Liverpool.
Educ: King William's College, Isle of Man.
On outbreak of First World War, enlisted in 2nd Sportsman's Battalion; served in France; awarded M.C. while serving with Sherwood Foresters, 1917; received technical training at Loughborough College, 1919-22; joined Raleigh Cycle Co., and worked on design of light car
1922 Patent. W. E. Hands and A. E. Doughty, engine pistons and method of manufacturing same.
Became a Director of Dunalastair Cars, Ltd., and subsequently Sales Manager, G. R. Burton and Son, Grantham; joined present corporation, 1931; Chief Automobile Engineer, 1939
