This Wallis expansion engine was new to C . and F. Freeman of Cheriton, Hampshire in 1927.

It was sold to T. Richardson of Fareham in 1954, then sold to Viscount Cranbourne's Estate.

It was purchased by the present owners' father in 1961 and rebuilt, fitted with Wallis and Stevens expansion valve gear.[1]
