1928. No. 7962. Reg No: OT 8117. Smokey

It was originally ordered for the Crayford District Council in 1928 and the roller was run by them until 1955. During the period of 1963 to 1971 the roller was very well known in the South East and was driven by the well-known engineman 'Smokey Shepard' and this is where the engine received the name 'Smokey'. It originally cost £896.4s. 10d and driven by Albert Hunter for a short period of time. From 1971-74 'Smokey' spent some of its life in the West Country before returning to the South East. The roller was bought in July 2011 by the Vercoe family of St. Stephen, St. Austell.
