1887 Made an improved blooming or cogging mill to the design of Mr. Jeremiah Head
1892 Triple expansion engine for the rice and oatmeal mills of R. Harper and Co. of Melbourne. Designed to indicate 250 horsepower when running at 90 rpm. Proell expansion gear. Bearings lined with white metal. 12 ft dia. flywheel, grooved for eight 2-in. ropes. The boilers are of the marine type, but with exceptionally large furnaces for burning the hulls or husks of the kiln-dried oats. Before being packed for shipment the machinery was completely erected at the makers’ works, and tried under steam with perfectly satisfactory results. The whole of the work was done under the superintendence of A. E. W. Gwyn, of London.[3]
1895 Dissolution of the business carried on by Henry Foxton Craggs, George Craggs and Tom Westgarth as Marine and General Engine Builders and Repairers and Boiler Makers at North Ormesby in the county of York under the style of Westgarth English and Co. by mutual consent as from the 31st day of December 1895. All debts and liabilities of the late firm will be paid and all debts due to the said firm will be received by Mr. Tom Westgarth.[4]
1896 Sir Christopher Furness bought an interest in the company which was an "old established" one[5] which became Sir Christopher Furness, Westgarth and Co
