1886 Founded in Birmingham by Hallam Sleigh and Cheston to manufacture horse harnesses and saddle fixings.[1]

1982 Presumably Hallam Sleigh and Cheston, car body manufacturer, changed its name to Widney which first announced its interim results[2].

1990 Described as "loss making" electronics firm[3]. Subject to a management buy-in[4]

1990 Acquired Chadburn Holdings and Porter Chadburn Engineering[5]

1993 Acquired SPC International[6]
