1881 Living at Parkers Well House, Topsham Road, Exeter: William Brock (age 35 born Exeter), Draper. With his wife Caroline Brock (age 36 born Trowbridge), four daughters and sons William Brock (age 7 born Exeter) and Arthur E. Brock (age 1 born Exeter). [1]

1898 Married at Exeter to Annie Bradley Rowe

1911 Living at Nancherrow, Spicer Road, Exeter: William Brock (age 37 born Exeter), Master Furnishing Warehouseman. With his wife Annie Bradley Brock and sons William Brock and John Charles Brock.[2]

1922 Appointed magistrate. 'MAJOR WILLIAM BROCK, O.B.E., eldest son the late Mr. William Brock, J.P., and a member of the firm Messrs. Brock and Co., house furnishers. He served in the late war, and was wounded at Gallipoli. He was also on the staff at Salonika. He has been member of Exeter City. Council for many years as representative of St. Matthew's Ward.'[3]

1939 Living at 8 Louisa Terrace, Exmouth, Furnishing Warehouseman (Master). With his wife Anne and son John C. Brock.[4]

1948 Died. 'The death has occurred in an Exmouth nursing home, after an illness of several months, of Mr. William Brock, Mayor of Exeter in 1925 and chairman of the well-known furnishing firm of Brock and Company Ltd., of Exeter and Torquay. Mr. Brook, who leaves a widow, two sons and a daughter, served with the 3rd Battalion Of the shire Regiment in the First World War, when he was awarded the O.B.E. and twice mentioned in despatches.'[5]
