WILLIAM FREKE MAXWELL WILLIAMS devoted his career to consulting work and was chiefly interested in boiler practice.

He served his time with Messrs. Robert Stephenson and Company of Newcastle and subsequently spent a short time as a sea-going engineer before commencing to practise on his own account.

Mr. Williams became a Member of the Institution as long ago as 1881.

He was born at Kilkenny in 1852 and his death occurred at North Lodge, Windsor Forest, on 19th May 1930.
