1858 Born in Almondbury, Yorks.

1881 Engineer to gas works contractor, lived in Huddersfield with his family[1]

1890 Gas engineer, married Mary Jarmain in Huddersfield[2]

1891 William was a gas superintendent; he was visiting Cockington, Devon, with his wife Mary.[3]

c.1891 Moved to Frome. Presumably joined Edward Cockey and Sons

1901 Manager for gas engineering works, lived in Frome with his family[4]

1902 With Herbert Edmund Smith, also of Frome, gained a patent on "An Improved Arrangement for Working Gas Purifiers".

1911 William Ludlam Ramsden 52, Contractor Manager for Manufacture of Gas Plant, lived in Frome with Mary Ramsden 52, Reginald William Ludlam Ramsden 19, Kathleen Ramsden 18, Winifred May Ramsden 16[5]

1930 Died in Birmingham[6]
