1897 Bailie Wallace attended a demonstration of an underground electric tram system by the Simplex Electric Tramway Conduit Syndicate at Prescot and hoped this might be preferred to an overhead system by Glasgow council[1]

1901 Living at 5 Oakley Terrace, Dennistoun, Glasgow: William Wallace (age 53 born Dalkeith), Agricultural Engineer. With his wife Jane Wallace (age 49 born Dennistoun) and their four children; John T. Wallace (age 27 born Dennistoun), Agricultural Engineer's Son; Duncan Mcn. Wallace (age 25 born Dennistoun), Agricultural Engineer's Son; Richard Wallace (age 20 born Dennistoun), Law Clerk; and Jenny S. Wallace (age 16 born Dennistoun),.[2]

1912 May 15th. Died. 'Mr William Wallace, a member of the Town Council, and ex-Magistrate of Glasgow, died on Monday last at his residence. Dennistoun. Mr Wallace, who had represented the Dennistoun Ward since 1902 took a very active interest in municipal matters, and was latterly a member of no fewer than seven of the principal Standing Committees of the Council. He completed his term of the Magistracy two years ago. In public questions also and in movements for the well-being of the community, he took a prominent part, and he was held high esteem. As managing director of Messrs John Wallace and Sons (Limited), agricultural engineers, he was widely known among farmers....'[3]
