Ferranti's made the ZTX series of bipolar transistors.

These gave their name to the inheritor of Ferranti Semiconductor's discrete semiconductor business, Zetex plc.

Transistor and diode manufacturer, once part of Ferranti.

1994 Subsidiary of Telemetrix[1]

2001 Due to fall in demand, further lay-offs of staff were made and mothballing of the plant would continue.[2]
