1930 Metropolitan Leather Co Ltd was formed by Parkinson Cowan to take over the leather activities of Parkinson and Cowan (Gas Meters) Ltd, a department that had been established 40 years previously by W. and B. Cowan^[2]. A more general leather business would be developed at the company's Bermondsey tannery.

WWII Part of the premises destroyed by enemy action; business moved elsewhere^[3].
