1858 Born at Sheffield the son of William Robinson, Steel Manufacturer
Educated King Edward VII School, Sheffield.[1]
1874-1880 Apprentice, William Jessop and Sons, Brightside Works.[2]
1880-1887 Assistant Manager, Steel Works, Rolling mills, forges, etc., William Jessop and Sons.[3]
1887-1891 Manager, Steel Works, Rolling mills, forges, etc., William Jessop and Sons.[4]
1890 elected member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.[5]
1891 elected a director of William Jessop and Sons Limited and appointed Joint Managing Director.[6]
1903 Joined the Board of the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway.[7]
1904 Appointed a director of J. J. Saville and Co when Jessops acquired a controlling interest.[8]
1905 Elected Master Cutler for the year 1905-1906.[9]
