Harry Birch Killon (1866-1925) Assoc. M.Inst.C.E, of Jones and Attwood

1866 Born the son of John Killon, a Pump Well Sinker.

Educated at Private school at Chester.

Articled to L. H. Moorsom, M.Inst.C.E., of Manchester.

Pupil and junior on the engineering staff of the Manchester Ship Canal Co., throughout and some time after construction of canal

1905 Patent 'William Fiddian, Joseph Penn, and Harry Birch Killon, improvements in apparatus for distributing sewage or sewage effluent upon filter beds'[1]

1914 Married at Chester to Kate Winifred Cornford.[2]

Afterwards in private practice in Manchester, presumably Birch Killon and Co

1922 Specializing in the Purification of Sewage

Director of and Engineer with Jones and Attwood, Stourbridge

Also Director of Activated Sludge, Ltd., of London. jointly designed and installed new hydro-pneumatic method of raising sewage, also of treating it, the latter system being known as the "Activated Sludge Process "

Also introduced and installed the "Fiddian" sewage distributor.
