He was demonstrating a furnace technique to a group of his foremen and men when a violent explosion occurred, the cause of which has never been established. HARRY GRIFFIN STANYON. Mr. H. G. Stanyon died on 19 November 1945, at the age of 32.
After training in the laboratories of Messrs. Cochran's. Iron Works, Middlesbrough, he then went to Messrs. E. Hind, Ltd., of South Bank, first as Chief Chemist and subsequently taking over control of their alloy manufacture.
