In 1961 Boulton Paul Aircraft acquired by Dowty Group; the new title of the company was:- “Boulton Paul Aircraft Ltd - Member of the Dowty Group”.

1970 The company name was changed to Dowty Boulton Paul Ltd. The company was by then a member of the Dowty Aerospace and Defence Group of companies.

1985 Developed the Sky Hook for launching Harriers from smaller ships[1].

1990 this business became Dowty Aerospace Gloucester.
