1873 Founded as the London and Hanseatic Bank.
1900 Incorporated as a Limited Company.
1916 London and Hanseatic Bank changed its name to the London Merchant Bank.
1939 London Merchant Bank became London Merchant Securities.[1]
1960 London Merchant Securities acquired 41 percent of the shares in Sanitas Trust[2]
1962 Owned British Property Investment Trust and New River Co, Invergordon Distillers, Westerham Press and a minority stake in Sanitas Trust[3]
1966 Acquired the Haddon Group.[4]
1977 Owned controlling stakes in Carlton Industries and Invergordon Distillers[5] as well as interests in property, financial services and North Sea Oil[6]
1984 Sold the minority of Carlton Industries that it owned to Hawker Siddeley[7]
2007 London Merchant Securities merged with Derwent Valley Holdings to form Derwent London.
