Edgar Stafford was born in 1879, and in 1902 commenced in his father's motor business at Halifax. From here he went to Humber, Coventry, as outdoor foreman, and was subsequently manager of the motor businesses of John Collier and Sons, Oxford, Julians Motors, Reading, and W. J. Peckham, Southsea.
In 1910 he was appointed Manager of the White Steam Cars, and later held positions with the Vulcan Motor and Engineering Co, Crossley Motors, the British Motor Trading Corporation, and finally, Sales Manager of Willys Overland Crossley.
He died on 3rd October, 1932, at the age of 53.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution of Automobile Engineers in 1908.
