Commr. (E.) FREDERICK JOHN LEWIS-HEATH, R.N., ret., whose death occurred on 16th July 1943, in his sixty-fourth year, was elected a Member of the Institution in 1912. He entered the Royal Naval Engineering College at Keyham in 1895 and on the termination of a five years' course, he served at sea as assistant engineer in [[HMS Niobe]] and [[HMS Bulwark]]. He was promoted sub-lieutenant (E.) in 1903 and after service in the Diadem and the Jupiter (in which latter ship he was promoted lieutenant), he was appointed to the Dido. | |||

The remainder of his service was almost entirely spent in destroyers, his promotion to lieut-commander taking place in 1913. Later he served in the Leviathan on his promotion to engineer commander. Commr. (E.) FREDERICK JOHN LEWIS-HEATH, R.N., ret., whose death occurred on 16th July 1943, in his sixty-fourth year, was elected a Member of the Institution in 1912. He entered the Royal Naval Engineering College at Keyham in 1895 and on the termination of a five years' course, he served at sea as assistant engineer in HMS Niobe and HMS Bulwark.
