He played an important part in the development of the [[Weardale Steel, Coal and Coke Co|Weardale Iron, Steel, and Coal Company]] at Spennymoor, of which firm he was formerly manager, and it was under his direction that the firm advanced to a position of great influence in the industrial world. HENRY WILLIAM HOLLIS died at Norbiton, Surrey, on December 3, 1903, at the age of sixty-six years.
