1960 A jointly-owned company was formed by Metal Box Co and John Waddington Ltd to handle the manufacture and sales development of paper containers for packaging liquids, fruit, etc [1]
A factory would be built at Scunthorpe[2]
1961 The jointly-owned company, Liquid Packaging Ltd, was formed by Metal Box Co and a new company jointly owned by John Waddington Ltd and International Paper Co of New York, to handle the distribution and sale of machines for making and filling Pure-Pak paper containers for liquids[3]
1965 International Paper purchased Waddingtons' share in the company and sold Waddingtons their shares in the Waddington-International Paper JV which was renamed Plastona[4]
