Kuwait Petroleum International was a subsidiary of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation

1981 Kuwait Petroleum Corporation merged with Santa Fe International Corporation[1]

1983 Kuwait Petroleum Corporation acquired Gulf Oil's European refining and marketing operations and moved them into a new organisation, Kuwait Petroleum International, responsible for the Corporation's refining and marketing activities outside Kuwait.

Acquired the Pace, Sadler and Roberts chains of petrol filling stations.

1986 Introduced the Q8 brand of petrol, lubricants and oil producrs to the British market, the first new brand of petrol in that market for 17 years. Distribution by Hays Petroleum Services, acquired from the Hays Group, which was also owned by the Kuwait Investment Office[2]

1987 Acquired Ultramar's British petrol stations as part of a plan to gain up to 7 percent of the British market for petrol[3]

1988 Acquired the whole of Carless's lubricants interests including the Filtrate plant at Knowsthorpe Gate, Leeds.[4] and presumably Filtrate Premier, Croager Brothers, Germ Lubricants, Ragozine Oil, K. Allan and Co, all of which were subsequently put into liquidation.
