"TOM BRYAN BRAMLEY was a member of the Institution for over forty years, having been elected in 1906. He was born in 1874 and after serving a six years' apprenticeship with [[I. and R. Morley|Messrs. J. and R. Morley]], hosiery manufacturers, of Nottingham, found his first employment as a journeyman to [[G. R. Turner|Messrs. G. R. Turner and Company]], colliery engineers, Nottinghamshire, in 1894. He was then engaged as a fitter and subsequently as foreman with various motor and cycle firms in Coventry, including the [[Eagle Cycle Co|Eagle Cycle Company, Ltd]]., for whom he was made works manager in 1899.
