Established in 1920 by Harold W. Smith, following the failure of H. W. Smith and Co.

In the 1960s the business was taken over by BICC.

NOTE: There were various other firms named Temco, including the US company Texas Engineering & Manufacturing Company (TEMCO), also known as Temco Aircraft Corporation.
