Formed in 1967, as a subsidiary of Leyland Motors to manufacture commercial vehicle alternators and starter motors under licence from Leece-Neville.[1]

1976 Became a part of the new SU-Butec division of British Leyland[2]

1988 Acquired by Prestolite Electric Inc. of Ann Arbor, Michigan. U.S.A. Leyland became the European headquarters of the American company.
