1982 Refused a licence for "cellular radio" when licences were granted to Cellnet and Racal

1983 Granted a 12-year licence to expand its mobile radio communications network, which would allow automatic connection with the network rather than relying on an operator. "Something we have been after for 30 years" according to Walter Stevenson, a director.[1]
