1854 John Michael Butt, of Kingsholm, near the city, but in the county of Gloucester, Ironfounder.[1]

1876 Patent. '4126. And John Michael Butt, of Kingsholm, and John Herring, of Newmarket, both in the city of Gloucester, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in apparatus used in the purification of gas."'[2]
