1982 The Radiochemical Centre was privatised as Amersham International. Amersham used 2 nuclear reactors at Harwell to make most of the isotopes it sold; the rest were made in a cyclotron. [1]
1997 The life sciences division was merged with Pharmacia Biotech of Sweden, becoming Amersham Biosciences; soon after Amersham International merged with Nycomed, a Norwegian diagnostics company, to became Nycomed Amersham plc[2]
2001 Became Amersham plc
