The Pont transbordeur de Brest started life as the [[Bizerte Transporter Bridge|Pont transbordeur Bizerte]] in Tunisia, where it was in operation from 1898 to 1909 (being removed when the harbour mouth was widened}. It was relacated to the Porte Militaire at Brest in 1909.
