1972.

of Skelmersdale, Lancs.

1936 John Clifford Garrett founded a company in Los Angeles

1939 Garrett incorporated the Garrett Corporation with 3 divisions:

  • Airsupply Division
  • Garrett Supply Division
  • AiResearch Manufacturing Division

1939 Garrett established a small research laboratory to conduct "air research" on the development of pressurized flight for passenger aircraft - this became AiResearch's first 'lab'.

Developed Cabin Air Compressors which became a major Garrett product

After the end of WW2, AiResearch secured the services of a leading German turbomachinery expert Prof. Werner von der Nüll. He soon became Head of Research. [1]
