1969 The Empire Rib Company changed its name to Range Engineering Industries. Activities included steel rolling and heavy engineering, light engineering and plating[1]

1977 Raine Engineering Industries made its final bid for Sheffield Brick Group[2] but this seems to have been unsuccessful.

1986 The private housebuilding and property company Miller Wheeldon was taken-over by the company[3]. In fact this was a reverse take over [4] which led to new management and a change in Raine's strategy. At the same time Miller Wheeldon acquired C. Price and Son

Acquired Ford and Weston shop fitter and construction group

Acquired Lycett and Platt, shop fitter and 2 small housebuilders

1987 Raine Industries acquired Aberdeen Construction Group plc

1988 Swapped Aberdeen Construction, aggregates, with Evered Holdings's house building arm Fletcher Holdings

1988 Failed in its bid for Ruberoid Co

1992 Acquired Walter Lawrence[5]

1997 Acquired by Alfred McAlpine[6]
