1926 - June. The council of the association purchased the house known as 10, Upper Belgrave-Street, London, S.W.I. as headquarters for the Institution and the offices were removed to that address.[1]
1926 - October. To fill the vacancy caused by the death of Sir Charles Ruthen, the council of the Institution of Structural Engineers appointed as President Sir Henry James Deane, consulting engineer, of Victoria-street. To fill the vacancy for a Vice-president caused by Mr. Deane's elevation, the Council appointed Mr. Ewart S. Andrews, consulting engineer, a partner in the firm of Messrs. Andrews and Beaumont, consulting engineers, High Holborn. [2]
