George Newton and Thomas Chambers formed Newton, Chambers and Co, which started out as an iron works but later expanded into coal and ironstone mining and the chemical byproducts of coal.[1]
1873 Thomas Chambers Newton and George Dawson, both of the Thorncliffe Iron Works, near Sheffield, in the county of York gave notice in respect of the invention of " improvements in kitchen ranges."[2]
