1996 Management buyout of a group of 17 European building products companies from Williams Holdings; the business included Valor, Rawlplug, Amdega, Swish. The new company was called Newmond; Williams retained an interest in the business[1][2]
1997 Sold the 3 direct-sale businesses, Amdega, Smallbone, Compton Buildings, as had been planned at the time of acquisition. Acquired building and electrical fixings company CCL of Leeds which was combined with Ancon Clark as Ancon CCL. The heating division consisted of Heatrae Sadia, Aqualisa, Valor. Home Products division included Swish Track & Pole, Swish Building Products, Vi-Spring, Dreamland including small appliances under the Breville brand, Larch-Lap.
