c.1939 The name of Petroleum Storage and Finance Corporation was changed to Cleveland Petroleum Co[1]; its principal subsidiary had been Cleveland Petroleum Products Co
1954 Esso increased its holding in the company
1958 Esso acquired the remaining shares in Cleveland Petroleum Co [2].
1962 Advert: Cleveland Discol fuel. Discol was trademark of Distillers Co Ltd. Cleveland was trademark of Cleveland Petroleum Co Ltd.
1973 Both the Esso and Cleveland names continued in use until 1973, when the Cleveland filling stations were re-branded as Esso.
