1896 Description of the Langdon-Davies AC motor: 'In the machine we are about to describe, which is being introduced by the Alternate-Current Electro-Motor Syndicate, Limited, of 2 and 4, Penywern-road, London, S.W., such improvements have been made by Mr. Langdon-Davies in the magnetic arrangements that the motor has an efficiency, according to Dr. Thompson’s report, of 91 per cent, at its maximum power, ....'[1]
