Highwayman, 1961 supplied to Shell, persumably with a tank as it's got the early coupling.
Highwayman 3, 1966, made for South Africa but was never exported and was bought by
Key Warehousing of Hull in 1967, again bought by S Harrison in early 80's.  


It was registered on 10-07-1961 no. 110 BGO, serial no 14326.
It was registered on 04-03-1967, no. JRH 752E, serial no 19137 and given fleet no KE24.


Powered by Gardner LX 150, 1600x16 rear and 825x20 front tyres, plated 24 tons GTW.
It was one of the first of the long wheelbase, 12', high speed units. Powered by a Leyland 680, 'S' cam brakes, now fitted with 11 22.5 tyres, it is plated at 32 ton GTW which was unusual in 1967.


S. Harrison's bought it in the early 80's
Neil Foster bought it in 2009 and finished restoring it this summer (2011).
